Aparna Modi

DVM and Owner

Dr. Modi owns Heights Hospital for Animals and brings a special interest in exotic and zoo medicine to the practice. Alongside dogs and cats, she has cared for a wide range of animals, including snakes, rabbits, tortoises, guinea pigs, and even the occasional lion, during three years at a busy animal hospital in Las Vegas before returning home to New York. A New York native who grew up on Long Island, she earned her Biology degree from New York University and her DVM from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012.

Dr. Modi currently lives in Ossining with her three cats/ninjas: Jack, Faile, and Perrin. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and watching movies. She is also a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Lisa Hamilton

Lead Receptionist

Lisa is a lifelong Yorktown resident whose career at Heights Hospital spans over 40 years. She thoroughly enjoys helping clients through all aspects of care for their cherished pets, including helping first-time pet owners get acquainted with their newest family members, giving extra TLC to animals who are boarding or just had surgery, and being an excellent support to grieving clients going down the difficult road of end-of-life care. She views everyone who enters the hospital (human and animal alike) as valued community members, and greets them with warmth and positivity. She is an avid reader, enjoys outdoor activities (especially the beach!), and loves her tuxedo cat, Bugsy, who she is training to walk on a leash!
