Aparna Modi

DVM and Owner

Dr. Modi is a New York native, having grown up on Long Island. After graduating from New York University in 2008 with a degree in Biology, she decided to head west making it as far as Knoxville where she attended the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her DVM in 2012. With a special interest in exotics and zoo medicine, she continued westward, settling in Nevada this time.

In addition to taking care of cats and dogs, she was proud to care for a variety of other pets, including (but not limited to) snakes, rabbits, tortoises, guinea pigs, and the occasional serval. After three years of practicing veterinary medicine at a busy animal hospital in Las Vegas, she felt a yearning for home and made her way back to New York.

Dr. Modi currently lives in New Rochelle with her three cats/ninjas: Jack, Faile, and Perrin. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and watching movies. She is also a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Lisa Hamilton

Lead Receptionist

Lisa is a lifelong Yorktown resident whose career at Heights Hospital spans over 40 years. She thoroughly enjoys helping clients through all aspects of care for their cherished pets, including helping first-time pet owners get acquainted with their newest family members, giving extra TLC to animals who are boarding or just had surgery, and being an excellent support to grieving clients going down the difficult road of end-of-life care. She views everyone who enters the hospital (human and animal alike) as valued community members, and greets them with warmth and positivity. She is an avid reader, enjoys outdoor activities (especially the beach!), and loves her tuxedo cat, Dolly, who she trained to walk on a leash!

When not at work, Dr. Larry enjoys attending dog-friendly events and bringing attention to other rescue animals. His special interests include cottage cheese, belly rubs, and long walks in the park.

As of April 28th, 2023, we are officially retired. It was an absolute privilege to have been your veterinarian. We will miss helping you and caring for all your beloved pets over the years.

With warm regards,
Nancy Delaney & Dave Groblewski
